Pop’s is back
Hello:
I just wanted to let everybody know that my Aortic Valve Replacement surgery went just fine, LOL… Here it is 7 month’s after surgery and I gained 32 lb’s, probably because I quit smoking, finally after 25 plus years. I feel much better.. We went to Memphis TN for the surgery and spent 11 days in the hospital and then back home.
Anyway I am back with buddy slim again and I am ready for action, I have been riding an exercise bike and doing a lot of walking trying to lose weight. What bothers me the most is that I really have to be very careful on what I eat because of the Coumadin. Since we opted for a mechanical heart valve { St. Jude’s Valve } I have to be on the Coumadin for life.
On July the 28th we went into the VA Hospital here in Louisville, ky to have a test done to find the blockages in my legs on the 30th, they had to take me off of the Coumadin and put me on Heparin IV do the dye test and then take me off of the Heparin and place me back on Coumadin, well they couldn’t get in down stairs so they went in with the cath under my left arm Oooouch.
They sent us home with my INR level at 1.0 and Lovenox 120mg injections, this was Thursday evening about 9:00pm, well Friday night I through a clot and was taken back to the hospital Saturday morning and I was admitted and placed back on Heparin IV, 4 days later they sent us back home again with my INR level at 1.5 and Lovenox 80mg injections.
The good news is that they did in fact find 3 blockages, 2 in my left leg and 1 in my right leg, the bad news is that the Chief of Cardiology canceled the surgery for the 13th of August to do an Angioplasties and a Stent in my left leg, So I need help finding things I can do to help me lose this weight..
HELP……
